It is widely understood that the strongest tree in the world needs both rain and sun to grow and bear fruit. Surely, Apple Inc. has seen its share of sunny days in abundance. Now, many investors believe dark clouds are circling and the rain will soon come. On the other hand, some financial analyst suggest a new phase is in the making and Apple’s best days are ahead. Although Apple closed out in the negative for the first time since 2008, the opportunities ahead outnumber the unavoidable threats that will arise. Notably, Apple has the opportunity to surpass its previous accomplishments. Undoubtedly, the tech behemoth has all of the components necessary to become a major global actor within the international community. This station stands far above holding the title of world’s greatest brand and largest company. Apple Inc. has the tools and the leadership to provide solutions for serious problems by forging partnerships with other Multi-Nationals (MNCs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and even Nation States.
True. There are some challenges Apple must face, then surmount in order to disprove doubting investors and ultimately achieve its goals. Many industry insiders believe iPhone sales have decreased significantly. This somehow portends to be the beginning of the end for Apple. First and foremost, consider the facts. Apple has great leadership. Yes. Steve Jobs was effective, but at what cost. Tim Cook is far more practical, poised and prepared to lead Apple into a new era. Unlike Jobs, who was totally focused on the future, Cook is more reserved and thinks ahead but in a practical manner considering not only innovation but other components of Apple’s wheel. As suggested by researcher Mangelsdorf, (2016) a strategist, you…...

What Do You Know About the Cold War?

...anything is going on. This is what was going on in the beginning of the Cold War just two years after WW2, 1947. Though what do people living during 1960 or even the children of the baby boomers know about the Cold War? I believe that the American Perception of the Cold War is very different from what was going on. The first person I interviewed was my father in law Dan Faris. Dan said “ To know about the Cold War all you have to know about is the Iron Curtain cause they could be synonymous. This is very true the Iron Curtain is defined by the Eastern and Western separation of Europe by Communism. This is what started the Cold War. During the European Financial Collapse people would kling to whatever promises people could make them to get them out of their poverty. Stalin came in and promised a better tomorrow and communism spread. The United States saw this as a threat and they wanted to stop Communism therefore Truman employed Marshall and henceforth Marshall aid was offered to the people in those European countries. Which in turn threatened Stalin. Dan said that this all started in 1957 which is actually not true though since he was born in 1955 may have been what he perceived. All of this actually started in 1945. During these games that the Russians and U.S. was playing with each other soon it turned ugly when bombs were placed in Cuba which was called the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dan’s perception said” I know a lot about this subject and I know it had to do with the......

What Are You Talking About

..."Ethics in Organizational Behavior" Please respond to the following: The decision to terminate an employee requires more information than what is given. The overall culture of the attitude towards the employee, how they interact, fit in, encourage or discourage their co-workers, and the overall dynamic of their presence in the organization.  By keeping the more motivated employees, that usually is comprised of the younger generation of the employee pool • Considering I have to answer the question I will provide explanations for both being “let go.”  If the company is looking to keep young energetic employees, and might be planning on moving into a new office style in the future they have to let go of Mary.  If the company is not planning on changing their office style they have to let go Sarah.  Keep in mind they both have strong attributes to bring to the table.  Sarah is trying to prove herself by stepping up to volunteer her services, but she is young and may find something more appealing to her and leave anyway.  Maybe Sarah finds a job in San Diego she is young and energetic, she may move away.  Then the company is finding itself having to rehire. Mary will be there for the long haul, she has family very steady employee at mid-40s.  So like I said in first paragraph, I would need more information in order to make a decision.   •From the scenario, determine the level of emphasis that organizations should place on ensuring that layoff decisions are ethical and......

Why Is It Important to Know What You Believe and What Do You Believe About God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ

...It is important to know what you believe so you can make the correct decisions in life based on your personal values, and judge the best way to solve problems in your life. It is also important to know what you believe so if questioned you can intelligently address the concern. If you KNOW you can present the inquisitor with facts so they can evaluate them for themselves. My Beliefs 1.) I believe in God. He is the creator of all things including me. The world and everything in it is so intricate it could not have happened by chance or evolved over billions of years. 2.) I believe the Bible is the word of God. I believe this because the Bible meets the needs of all mankind. If you need comfort, love, forgivness, or faith you can find some verse or chapter to address the need. I also believe the Bible because I have accepted Jesus into my life and have faith that that the Bible is true. 3.) I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe in him also because of faith. Jesus died in order to forgive us of our sins. Just because I cannot see him it does not mean he is not real. No matter what I am going through I know he’s there. If I need healing I pray and believe in him. If I need guidance in making a decision I ask and trust he will guide me. The hard part is to remain patient while waiting for him to show me the answers I seek. While waiting I keep praying to stay close to him. ...

What You Need to Know About Programming Languages

...details about the various parts. To add these details, design iterations are then included to complete the design. Next up we have a variation of these languages such as: o Procedural Programming Languages Procedural Programming involves a list of operations the program needs to complete to be able to attain the preferred state. It is a simple programming paradigm where every program comes with a starting phase, a list of tasks and operations, and an ending stage. Also called imperative programming, this approach comes with small sections of code that perform certain functions. These sections are made up of procedures, subroutines, or methods. A procedure is made up of a list of computations that should be done. Procedural programming lets a part of the code to be used again without the need to make several copies. It achieves this by dividing programmatic tasks into small sections. Because of this, programmers are also capable of maintaining and understanding program structure. Among the known procedural languages are BASIC and FORTRAN. These are the different types of computer programming languages that you can consider when planning to make a computer program. Procedural programming splits the program's source code into smaller fragments. Structured languages require more constraints in the flow and organization of programs. And object-oriented programs arrange codes and data structures into objects. To learn more about computer programming, including how you can......

Important to Know What You Believe

...Why is it important to know what you believe and why believe it. The best way to be successful is to believe in you, and know that God is a keeper to those who believe. For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him. (2 Timothy 1:12 KJV). Believe is a verb that means to have confidence in the truth. (dictionary.com) Being employed by the Central Ohio Transit Authority, we are given a policy book, along with training on how to operate, and handle a commercial bus, and routing that we are assigned to for that day. If we follow the work sheet, and the policy of the company, we will have years of successful employment with the company. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is ruler over my life. I stand firm on his word because it has been proven to me by scripture and being a Christian that when I follow bibles principals (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth). (Urban Dictionary). I can have life, and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV). Identify what you believe about God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God according to the flesh. (Romans 1:3 KJV). In order to have ever lasting life, we must believe that Jesus came and that he died for our sins, in the flesh so that we can live again. The bible is truly the inspired word of God, giving a true history of the creation of heaven and earth. (The Apostles Doctrine). The best way to experience Jesus Christ is......

You Don’t Know What You Have Until It’s Gone.

...You Don’t Know What You Have until It’s Gone. As life goes on, we are constantly learning from all of the lessons that life has to offer. We often learn these lessons through first-hand experience regarding what works and what doesn’t. One of the lessons of life is that we don’t often appreciate what we have until it’s too late. I have personally had a few experiences that taught me about being grateful for the things in my life – technology, my health, and my family. I learned not to take technology for granted when I was forced to go without it during a blackout that lasted for two days. It was summer, I was living in an apartment on the 26th floor and I was working as a computer technician. One day, without any head’s up, an earthquake caused a blackout that paralyzed the city for two days. Imagine having no electricity. This means no water, no heat, no cell phone, no Internet or TV, no elevator – the list goes on. Life became disastrous and inconvenient. Having to carry a 20 liter tank of water up to the 26th floor one step at a time, not being able to shower or cook any food, not being able to talk to my family and friends, no air conditioner when the temperature went over 30 degrees, and the food rotting in the fridge made me realize how easy it was to ignore the basic yet important elements that I had on a day to day basis and how little I appreciated them before. After time passed and the lights were back on in the city, I was happy and grateful for all of what......

Forget What You Know About Good Study Habits by Benedict Carey

...Forget What You Know About Good Study Habits By BENEDICT CAREYSEPT. 6, 2010 retrived from :http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/07/health/views/07mind.html?scp=1&sq=Study%20Skills&st=cse Every September, millions of parents try a kind of psychological witchcraft, to transform their summer-glazed campers into fall students, their video-bugs into bookworms. Advice is cheap and all too familiar: Clear a quiet work space. Stick to a homework schedule. Set goals. Set boundaries. Do not bribe (except in emergencies). And check out the classroom. Does Junior’s learning style match the new teacher’s approach? Or the school’s philosophy? Maybe the child isn’t “a good fit” for the school. Such theories have developed in part because of sketchy education research that doesn’t offer clear guidance. Student traits and teaching styles surely interact; so do personalities and at-home rules. The trouble is, no one can predict how. Yet there are effective approaches to learning, at least for those who are motivated. In recent years, cognitive scientists have shown that a few simple techniques can reliably improve what matters most: how much a student learns from studying. The findings can help anyone, from a fourth grader doing long division to a retiree taking on a new language. But they directly contradict much of the common wisdom about good study habits, and they have not caught on. For instance, instead of sticking to one study location, simply alternating the room where a......

What You Should Know About Globalization and the World Trade Organization

...What You Should Know About Globalization and the World Trade Organization Case Analysis Alan V. Deardorff and Robert M. Stern If you look at the tag on your shirt, chances are you would see that it was made in a country other than the one in which you sit right now. What's more, before it reached your wardrobe, this shirt could have very well been made with Chinese cotton sewed by Thai hands, shipped across the Pacific on a French freighter crewed by Spaniards to a Los Angeles harbor. This international exchange is just one example of globalization, a process that has everything to do with geography. Globalization is the process of increased interconnectedness among countries most notably in the areas of economics, politics, and culture. McDonalds in Japan, French films being played in Minneapolis, and the United Nations, are all representations of globalization. In years past, people across the globe did not have the ability to communicate and could not interact without difficulty. Nowadays, a phone, instant message, fax, or video conference call can easily be used to connect people. Additionally, anyone with the funds can book a plane flight and show up half way across the world in a matter of hours. In short, the "friction of distance" is lessened, and the world begins to metaphorically shrink. A general increase in awareness, opportunity, and transportation technology has allowed for people to move about the world in search of a new home, a new job, or to...

What I Know About College

...College, the next step in your life. What I know about college already is it is expensive, books must be bought through your own money, and it is better to take college classes in high school. Most of things I have learnt through school and my brother because he attends WKU and tells me a lot about college and how expensive it is. First, college is extremely expensive, not only because you have to pay to get in but you have to buy your own books and tuition is charged by how many hours you have of classes. Sometimes for some students it is cheaper than others and in other cases it is more expensive. Using the college dorms is expensive too, my brother had to pay six hundred dollars or so to live in a dorm. On average most books for college are one hundred to even five hundred dollars maybe even more and you buy more than a couple books. So just living in a dorm and buying your books could total to a thousand dollars. Next, books this is probably cost you more than you think. My friend that goes to UK pays around three hundred dollars for his books and that is for engineering classes. Imagine regular classes like chemistry and trigonometry. Worst part is you have to pay for books with your own money, yes you can get a loan but you still have to pay it back. My brother spent one hundred and thirty five dollars on a book he only used once and he could not pass the class without that book. Lastly, you better try and take college classes in high school than college, for......

Even the most basic form: closing your eyes and breathing deep, is sometimes enough to lose your emotions. Ads by Google Meditation - Free MP3s The essence of all practice is to be cool. www.ramatalks.com  2 Distance yourself from the situation. You can do this by seeing yourself as an observer of the situation and not an active participant. Focus on the visual details of the environment and disengage from the situational reality.  3 Think logically, not emotionally. If you can't dissociate yourself from the situation, then take a more logical approach (i.e. facts/figures) rather than an approach of anger, hatred, fear, etc. Think of the reasons behind the actions and look at things from all sides before making any sort of judgment.  4 Think of something else. When dealing with a situation that requires the lack of emotion, think of something rudimentary that occupies your mind. A few examples of things to try are: Long division, listing the full names of your entire family, listing all 50 states, naming as many mammals as you can, etc. The key to doing this correctly is to occupy your mind with peaceful and quiet thoughts, while remaining aware of the situation and taking it all in.  5 Realize that you may be wrong. Emotions can cloud our judgment, and there’s always a possibility that you are simply wrong. If you realize this, let it go. Pride will only......

What You Know About This

...Dorothy Robinson Culture and Society May 13, 2012 Wendell Johnson The social situation that I would like to address in this essay is the problem of crime in our society. We all know that crime is on the rise, most likely due to inequalities in race, education, social class, skills, financial status, and religious beliefs and values. Of course, both functionalists and conflict theorists are marco-level, but have differing views on the reasons for, and reactions to, crime in our society today. Interactionist on the other had is micro-level, meaning it is not that useful to the world. Functionalists believe that crime is important for a society. Crime shows other member of the society what is right and wrong. Social agreement decides how right and wrong is determined. Crime can lead to social change, say functionalists, because the existence of crime proves to the people in the society that the government does not overly control the citizens. Crime can also help the economy of a society by creating jobs for law enforcement officers, psychiatrists, and probation officers. However, even in a functionalist society, too much crime can be bad for the group, causing it to lose the standard harmony and ultimately causing the society to failure. Also it is suggested that the existence of crime is functional in its ability to gather families and communities together for a common purpose. Conflict theorists feel that crime is products of a struggle for power and control.......

You Don't Know..Yet.

...having a family, friends or someone around you because it’s a necessity of a human person. I can say it’s a necessity for they are the ones who can help you discover and learn things which you still do not know. Remember that there is a saying, “No man is an island.” Yes, it’s true. For through them, you can help yourself in finding what is the essence of living in this world, what is your purpose and what else should we learn. We need them for us to be whole. LIVE AND LET LIVE. Everyone in this world have the right to live. Even the smallest creatures around us have the right to live. Everybody has its own freewill to choose how he/she will live his /her life. People have their own answers, reasons or explanations in choosing or deciding things. This means each one of us has his own perspective in viewing those. Each of us has his own “point-of-view” which makes ourselves different from everybody else in this world. We cannot tell that one’s point-of-view is wrong for that’s the way he sees things. It’s his belief. But there’s a better way we could take to make your way and my way of viewing things common. We can help each other in letting ourselves see the things which we do not see. PRAYER WORKS. This one really works. Whatever challenges you might face, just know that He’s always there for you. He will not forsake you. Call for Him through praying. It’s always nice to know that even the world turns you down; He’s always there to lift you up. As my life verse says......
