The economic system that is best suited for handling a crisis of epic proportions, and tragic aftermaths would be I believe a Socialism system. The reasoning I have behind this system is that a socialist system has emergency management systems in place as quickly as the disaster happen. Take FEMA and The Red Cross for examples these companies have quickly taken charge and set up areas in disaster locations to distribute medical needs, food, water, and many other necessities as needed. These groups also establish areas of shelter and safety for many people who otherwise have no other place to be. If our system wasn’t a socialism system then would we have all of the resources available to us as needed? The emergency responders are all paid by the government, which I believe has a lot to do with how much help is truly available when needed. If we didn’t have the economic system in place that we have would these individuals be willing to risk everything to help in a disaster area? Would we have the resources available to offer the necessities that people in the disaster need? I don’t believe so, that is why I believe the socialism system is the best in this case. I think the socialist system would be the best for emergency circumstances much like the earthquake of Haiti in 2010. Here again we have the government that sends out the help of FEMA so that the individuals affected in Haiti have a way to gain access to the everyday necessities of food, water. Etc. There are multiple people that are sent out to help rebuild in areas of natural disasters much like Haiti and other areas. There are no direct charges generated to the individuals in the socialism system all these groups including the ones rebuilding and cleaning up the mass destruction mess left behind by the disaster are covered by the government, in the time of need.

...Week 1 assignment 9.4 Business Ethics Loren Vranich, a doctor practicing under the corporate name Family Health Care, P.C., entered into a written employment contract to hire Dennis Winkel. The contract provided for an annual salary, insurance benefits, and other employment benefits. Another doctor, Dr. Quan, also practiced with Dr. Vranich. About nine months later, when Dr. Quan left the practice, Vranich and Winkel entered into an oral modification of their written contract whereby Winkel was to receive a higher salary and a profit-sharing bonus. During the next year, Winkel received the increased salary. However, a disagreement arose, and Winkel sued to recover the profit-sharing bonus. Under Montana law, a written contract can be altered only in writing or by an executed oral agreement. Dr. Vranich argued that the contract could not be enforced because it was not in writing. Does Winkel receive the profit-sharing bonus? Did Dr. Vranich act ethically in raising the defense that the contract was not in writing? Winkel v. ...4G (Fourth Generation) cellular service is introduced. 2010 - 4G LTE (Fourth Generation Long-Term Evolution) cellular service is introduced. 2012 - The 4G Apple iPhone 5 is introduced 1 The telephone system that was to evolve into today's multi-faceted telecommunications system began with Bell's invention. Without bell going forward with this we would never of had the telephone just the light bulb 2 For the majority of its history, AT&T, the parent company of the Bell system, functioned as a legally sanctioned, regulated monopoly. The guiding principle used to defend its position, promoted by AT&T President Theodore Vail in 1907, was that a monopolistic structure would be the most efficient foundation to support the development of universal telephone service. Vail maintained that appropriate government regulation was an acceptable substitute for the competitive marketplace. The US government accepted this principle informally at first and later through legislation. Despite an antitrust suit filed in 1949 and sporadic investigations into AT&T's business practices, the monopoly lasted until US District Judge Harold Greene ruled that AT&T had to divest its local service operations, which it agreed to do in 1984. If they had contained with the monopoly we would be paying a lot for phone services and we would not have the compaction that we have today for the best rates. 3 In terms of fostering competition, protecting the rights of consumers, and ensuring universal......

...Running head: LEADERSHIP APPROACH Leadership Approach University of Phoenix Leadership Approach Countless managers work tirelessly each day to help create thriving and dynamic organizations. Some of these managers possess unparalleled leadership qualities while others lack the knowledge and appropriate people skills to motivate and empower employees. Managers and Leaders have varying definitions. A manager can be effective without leadership qualities and a leader can be effective without management skills. However, in chapter one of Organizational Leadership, Yukl (2010) states, “defining managing and leading as distinct roles, processes, or relationships may obscure more than it reveals if it encourages simplistic theories about effective leadership (p. 8). The following paper provides an overview to the leadership approach of behavior as well as provides a description of the strengths and weaknesses of this approach. Behavior Approach The Behavior Approach began in the early 1950s after researchers declared the Trait Approach as being an ineffective means for identifying positive leadership qualities (Yukl, 2010). Researchers believed the key to successful leadership included the positive behaviors management displayed while on the job. Additionally, management stated behavior research falls into two general subcategories: (1) how managers spend their time and the typical patterns of activities, responsibilities and the functions for managerial jobs and......

...we hear the word stereotype, we automatically think of the bad. However, there is a positive aspect to stereotypes, like the chance to receiving a better job, education, or other positive opportunities. For example, one racial stereotype that may help a race, would be that all Asians are smart. If this is a stereotype that people hold while interviewing someone, then the Asian person who interviewed may have a better chance at getting the job than someone else. What are the negative aspects of stereotypes? One negative aspect I believe comes from stereotypes, would be how close minded people become from stereotypes that are present. I think that there are a lot of people who are truly afraid to be who they are, because they are scared, influenced, or threaten by stereotypes that people hold and even voice. Part III Answer each question in 50 to 150 words related to those stereotypes. Provide citations for all the sources you use. Define stereotypes and prejudice. What is the difference between stereotyping and prejudice? Use examples to illustrate the differences. Stereotypes are unreliable or exaggerated generalizations about all members of a group, that do not take individual differences into account. Prejudice is when one holds a negative attitude towards an entire catefory of people, such as a racial or ethnic minority. For example, a stereotype against Mexican men is that they are all jobless. However, a prejudice against a Mexican...
