The main strength of Vail Resorts Inc. is the stress they put upon ambiance and creating an effective package. Vail Resorts have a reputation for quality service, all-season excellence, and trademark in providing a unique upscale experience to many executives and celebrities. CEO, Adam Aron, seemed to take Vail Resorts Inc. and run with it! Aron is definitely the strongest asset for Vail, having graduated from Harvard (in three years) and then a Harvard M.B.A. Before coming to Vail, Aron had experience in hotels, airlines and cruise lines, and knew coming to VR would be a challenge. It takes a special person to be up to the challenge of a growing business and industry and someone that will last throughout the growing pains. Aron has done just that. With Aron's arrival, the ski industry was moving away from the smaller scale resorts run by families and onto larger mergers and acquisitions of other resorts, even ones that would provide package deals for all season. Other than just a "ski industry," Vail Resorts, which include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone, (all in Colorado) and Heavenly in California, VR also owns 18 hotels, 6 golf courses and more than 100 restaurants and shops. Breckenridge and Keystone were acquired by Vail Resort Ins. in 1996, which resolved much of the competition threats. Another of the greatest "resort" strengths is the fact that most of the Vail resorts are located within 45 minutes of each other which provides the opportunity for the organization to cater to many different type clientele with different themed rooms, restaurants and resort facilities.

Since BM had never tracked individual profits and losses between each of their offices, Lauder had no way of determining which office was profitable or not; All Lauder knew was that he needed to layoff about 150 employees. On December 1, Lauder took the easy way out and decided to close the entire Vail office, which housed the most employees, yet also serviced the largest client account for the entire company. Unfortunately for Lauder and BM, this layoff did not save the company at all. Revenues continued to decline steeply in January, February, and March of 2001 and Bradley Marquez is continuing to search for answers.  After given the approval from both Bradley and Marquez, Lauder established an unclear percentage based off several margins to help narrow down which office would receive the lay offs.  Within a few months the Vail office was chosen for the lay offs and much to the employee’s surprise, the entire office was closed.  This decision not only caused employee moral to severely drop; it did not lower their expenses like they anticipated.  The layoff and Vail closure exposed the employees to the lack of knowledge Bradley and Marquez had in the company’s financial affairs, along with their inability to run the company efficiently. Every school district that participates in the National School Lunch Program was required to pass a wellness policy which was an opportunity to promote healthy eating through changes in school surroundings. By making lunches healthier, school food service directors are changing the way they cook, altering recipes, and searching for products with less fat and sugar. Fruits canned in heavy syrup have been discarded in favor of those canned in light juice (Vail, 2005). Millions of schoolchildren across America pick up their lunch at the school cafeteria every day. Although school lunches have been criticized over the years for providing poor nutritional choices, legislation such as the, “Healthy School Meals Act of 2010 aims to decrease fats and emphasize vegetables and fruits in school lunches” (Vail, 2005). The number of healthy choices offered has increased and we are confident that the choices will continue to increase. Children must learn to make healthy food choices. Children learn this while at home, school, and out to eat at restaurants. Providing only healthy choices among several fruits eliminates the possibility of picking chips over an apple. Children who try healthy food choices and discover they like them may be more likely to choose them at other times. King worked for four days on his speech (invention), finishing it just before dawn on the day of the rally. It wasn’t original material by any means. If you compare King’s Letter from Birmingham Jail to the “I Have a Dream” speech, there are eight places where the two texts overlap in phrasing and message (Vail, 2006, p. 59).
