However, God was too kind and sent his own son, Jesus, to the world to save man and ensure he will still be guaranteed internal life after physical death. Therefore, Jesus came to the world to fulfill a well planned mission of saving man through extensive biblically based teachings. This was challenging and consequently, it was inevitable to deploy different techniques targeting at ensuring the teachings are tailored towards fitting mans life hear in the earthly world. Throughout the New Testament and the Old Testament, Jesus deployed methods such parables and sermons to ensure his teachings could be related to the world. It is important to realize that most teachings were tailored towards ensuring the fallen mankind transforms his behavior. To achieve this, Jesus relied more on parables and Sermons to emphasize on his teachings. In particular, the sermon in the mountain is considered as the core of Christianity life. It took place early in Jesus live immediately after being baptized by John the Baptist. The crowds followed him and climbed at the mountain and started giving the sermon. The......

The Sermon on the Mount

...The sermon at the mount is a collection of teachings and sayings that Jesus preaches to people at Galilee. It takes place after Jesus had been baptized by John the Baptist. This is the longest teaching by Jesus in a single preaching. It is found in the New Testament in the book of Matthew. It transverses chapter five to seven of the Gospel of Matthew. The main theme of sermon of the mountain is how people should relate with other people and God. The sermon is preached at a mountain when Jesus saw the crowd and his disciples’ were following him, he sat at a level ground on the mountain and started to preach. The Preaching’s can be divided it four major parts; The Beatitudes, Lord’s Prayer and parables. Beatitudes The word beatitude comes from a Latin phrase “beatitudo” which means blessedness. The beatitudes are eight in number and all have similar characteristics in that they all begin with the word blessed. The beatitudes come from doing eight different things in a certain manner. Six of the beatitudes are futuristic in nature in that they say what will happen, while two of them have a present tense. The beatitudes are from Mathew chapter five from verse three to ten. The first beatitude is found in the book of Matthew chapter five verses three and it states; blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The beatitude is futuristic since it promises a future reward. The beatitude tries to explain that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those people who...

Unity

...Unity The proverb unity is strength tells us that "united we stand, divided we fall".Unity refers to the condition or state of being one. A rope is strong because its threads are united. We cannot break it unless the threads are separated.Nothing can be achieved without unity. Unity is necessary for the survival of all. Today our world requires a lot of unity among the nations to tackle with important issues such as environmental pollution. Unity not only leads to the prosperity of a person but also to the prosperity of a nation. Unity helps in strengthening relationships. Unity is like a link that connects a long chain. If we are united none can destroy us. Unity helps in achieving triumph. It can destroy terrorism. The ultimate success always depends upon the people. The security of a nation depends upon the integrity and harmony among its citizen. During the past many countries were in the control of foreign powers. There wasn't any unity among the people and rulers. This enabled the foreign powers to easily conquer them and rule them. We achieved our freedom through the combined effort of our great leaders and our ancestors.Unity is essential to maintain peace in the world. Unity helps to avert wars. We must also live in accord with the environment. The thought that "I am a human, all humans are my brothers and sisters" symbolizes unity. Thus knowing the power of unity, all of us should stay together. If...

Unity of the Message

...The unity of the message from different human sources is a strong argument that the Bible is the Word of God. The fact of at least 36 to 40 authors participated in writing the 66 books of the Bible for me is inspiring. As Dr. Towns stated in his article, “Yet in spite of the diversity of authors, there is unity in the Bible, reflecting its supernatural origin.” The human authors have diverse backgrounds such as Politicians, Shepherd/King, Prophet, Fisherman, Tax-Collector, Theologian and Butler/Cupbearer to name a few. Not only were the author’s background diverse so were the language, and writing styles. Another important fact is that the Bible does not have a single author but rather it has dual authorship. This means that each book of bible was written by a human author guided by the Holy Spirit. Dr. Towns also discussed the unity of the message of Scripture, “As a person objectively reads the Bible, he finds a unified message that centers in Jesus Christ, a unified theme which is the redemption of God, a unified structure so that each part of the Bible contributes to the whole.” Knowing that the message of Bible centers in Jesus Christ which is the redemption of God is inspirational but also gives me a true sense of peace and security in the unifying message of the Bible. Because of the consistent message of love, I know without in doubt I am God’s child and loved unconditionally and He is always with me....

...How does N.C.F.C. Demonstrate Oneness When I look at the oneness, I think of numerous words such as the fact or state of being unified or whole, comprised of two or more parts. Oneness can also mean being one in number belief in the oneness of God. I don’t want to spend too much time defining oneness. As me being a member of the National Christian Fellowship Conference. I observe the oneness that the N.C.F.C. family has been displaying. The way the N.C.F.C. family display this oneness is by us coming together as one under one banner of unity, Praising and worshipping one God, and fellowship. I’m glad where able to come under banner one and man of God, because we have different demonstrations and teachings, but were serving one God. We live in a world where individualism is encouraged to the extinct, where we are sometimes forced to consider ourselves separate from one another. That’s why I’m glad I have Bishop James McNeal Jr. in my life. He knows how to bring the people of God together. N.C.F.C. also shows oneness by coming together @ 7:30 nightly to be together in the worship service. We all come to worship and honor the same God that’s able to bring us together, no matter what we are. If God was able to bring his disciples as one at the Last Supper. So that being said Bishop McNeal is able to gather his organization together. That’s my insight on how N.C.F.C. Demonstrate oneness....

Sermon on the Mount

...The Sermon on the Mount The Sermon on the Mount has been one of the essential teachings of the church throughout the centuries, but it has not always been understood in the same manner. Many individuals have interpreted it in different ways, majority admiring it, others accepting it, some just flat out trashing it. But, the fact of the matter still stands that the specific lifestyle taught in the sermon is simply impossible for a person to achieve completely. Overall, I believe that the lifestyle presented in the Sermon on the Mount is a mixture of hyperboles and metaphors rather than literal teachings from Jesus. I do not agree at the idea of contradicting everything the sermon states. Interpreting it in a more general sense instead of overanalyzing every word for the purpose of achieving salvation is much more realistic. In this paper I will analyze the text with my opinion in mind and surface the lifestyle in a clear method. The sermon is divided into several main parts including the Beatitudes, the Ten Commandments, and the discourse on judgment and holiness. The Beatitudes and the relation to Light and salt displayed in Matthew (3-16) states, “Happy are the poor in spirit because the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs, Happy are the mourners because they will be comforted…Happy are the poor of heart because they will see God.” These statements as well as the other five are concerned with virtue and how a believer in Jesus Christ can achieve that virtue. In my opinion, the......

Unity of the Message

...is a strong argument. Include at least 2 quotes from the article to support your points. The argument in which I found the most convincing from this week’s reading and presentation from Dr. Towns was, the unity of the message from different human sources. It is almost an unheard of task that there would be such unity in a book with a minimum 36 authors, over 1600 years, from such diverse occupations and regions. Elmer Towns states, “The Bible was written over 55 generations, yet there remains a singular unity. Only God who transcends all time could be its source.” Towns also wrote, "There is a unity of literary emphasis, even though there are numerous authors, so that the reader gets the impression that there was one mind that guided the preparation of the entire Bible." There are many different time periods, circumstances, situations, geographical, occupational, literary styles and much more separating the 66 books and authors that make up the Bible. But there remains one main theme throughout, the message of Jesus and Salvation of the World. The reason for such unity in the Bible is because although there are many physical authors, there is only one inspiration for the writings, God. This is known as dual-authorship, because God guided the human Authors to provided unity to the scriptures....

Sermon on the Mount

...Rayna 3/6/15 Sermon on the Mount The Sermon on the Mount is a collection of sayings and teachings of Jesus. These teachings stress the importance of His moral teaching found in the Gospel of Matthew. It is the first of the Five Discourses of Matthew and takes place relatively early in the Ministry of Jesus. It also happened after he preached in Galilee and John the Baptist had baptized him. In Matthew 4:12-17, Matthew noted that Jesus began to preach a message of repentance because the kingdom of heaven was near. Jesus moved to the city of Capernaum from Nazareth to reach a larger audience. Matthew 4:17, “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” The phrase ‘from that time’ refers to the arrest of John the Baptist. From this event, Jesus chose to launch His public ministry. Matthew goes on to talk about the calling of the first disciples, Simon Peter, and his brother Andrew, who were fishing. (Matthew 4:18-20). Jesus promised them that He would make them fishers of men. Jesus was beginning to build His kingdom. Jesus then called James and John fishermen, who were tending to their nets in their boat. (Matthew 4:21-22). In Matthew 4:23-25, Jesus went around the region proclaiming the message of the kingdom. He healed people and the people responded from far away. Matthew 5:1. “Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down.  His disciples came to him, and he began to......

Sermon on the Mount

...In Matthew chapters 5-7 Jesus addresses the masses before him in probably one of the most well-known teachings “The Sermon on the Mount.” In the sermon Jesus addresses many issues including altering parts of the Ten Commandments. For instance saying that “21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.” Christ does not change outright what is being said in the Ten Commandments, rather he addresses and adds more meaning to what was already in place. Of these teachings and principles that Christ set forth in that Sermon so are more applicable today than others. For instance, in a world where divorce is rampant, roughly 41% of first marriages in 2013 ended in divorce 60% of second 73% of third marriages (Jasmin, 24), Christ states that “31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” If that is indeed true even today then we sadly live in a world where a large majority cannot claim they are not guilty of adultery. In light of that however, there are a those teachings that actually do apply, for instance some people, Christians included, tend to be openly boastful about...

Unity

...A very good morning I bid to the panel of honourable judges, dedicated teachers, my fellow competitors last but not least beloved audience. Where there is unity there is always victory. Well, we all know about the story “Three Musketeers” which is a classic English novel written by Alexander Dumas. D’Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are always united facing the challenges in their lives. When Cardinal Richelieu's guards appear to arrest d'Artagnan and the three musketeers, the four men win the battle that follows even though they are outnumbered. The reason for their success was that they were united according to their famous motto “All for one and one for all.” This brings me to my topic today that is “1 MALAYSIA” which portrays national unity. 1Malaysia is an on-going programme designed by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak on 16 September 2010, calling for the cabinet, government agencies, and civil servants to more strongly emphasise ethnic harmony, national unity, and efficient governance. An official logo and slogan has been introduced along with the launch of the 1Malaysia concept. The official logo is the symbol of '1' which incorporates the national “Jalur Gemilang” flag and the word Malaysia. RM 38 million has been spent by the government to promote 1 Malaysia since 2010. Improving government efficiency is an important aspect of 1Malaysia.The use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) is an important part of the......
