Management Behavior Memo

Interclean is preparing to merge with EnviroTech between 90 to 180 days. By merging with EnviroTech our clients will be able to take advantage of not only the products, but also the solutions and services that will be provided. We have made the announcement to all of the employees regarding the merger and since doing so there have been some inconsistencies circulating. This is an exhilarating and receptive time for the company and must be approached in a fragile and professional manner. Unmanaged or caustic behavior of a manager can turn the best job into a dejected one. A negative manager can create an environment of distrust and hostility causing productivity to decrease within the company. The best way to inspire your employees is to center more on the positives relatively than the negatives. Look at your employee’s prospective and what separates them from other employees. As a administrator find ways to create a tension free environment that will inspire your employees to want to come to work on a daily basis. Give them the empowerment to make choices and open the lines of communications. In completing these steps you will most definitely make the merger between InterClean, Inc. and Enviro Tech a successful one.
Manager’s Impact on Employee’s Productivity: Various studies have shown and proven as well as every day interactions with managers that employees’ performance and actions of the manager(s) have a harmonizing relationship. Just about six out of 10 responders cited poor management as the issue that most knocked workplace productivity, with loss of work inspiration coming second (Upfront, 2008).
Managers Actions and Employment Laws:
In our daily practices, particularly at a time such as now, we must guarantee that we continue to control, manage, and make decisions ethically. Inside the Ethics Resource Center’s 2000…...

...From: Johnathan W. Cypher To: Management RE: Web Conferencing Program I would like to quickly discuss the web conferencing program that I feel will benefit the company not just in the cost of using, but the amount of features this program allows. The program I feel fits what we need is the Infinite Conferencing Program made by Infinite. For only $35 dollars we could have up to 1 thousand colleagues conferencing all at once. The program is easy to use and doesn't take long to learn. They have live help if you run into any problems. This program is recommended by many top ranking companies. The only downside to this program is it doesn't have embedded video which isn't a major factor for what we need it for. The program also offers the ability to have impromptu meetings or carefully planned conferences. In my research this program was the best fit and the reviews really made me decide this is the one we want. Any questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask. Best Regards, Johnathan W. Cypher |Adobe. ...Running head: MANAGEMENT BEHAVIOR Management Behavior George Dalton University of Phoenix HRM 531 Dr. Samuel Sanders February 18, 2009 Memorandum To: First-Level Managers From: Midlevel Sales Manager Date: February 18, 2009 Subject: Managerial Behavior As everyone has probably heard InterClean, Inc. has acquired EnviroTech and will be merging its staff. As first-level mangers you have been entrusted with a great deal of responsibility and your responsibilities will surely increase as this merger proceeds, and I know you will be up to task. In saying that, I would like to address the importance of the type of behavior that a manager should exhibit with 3 key points; (1) how a manager’s behavior can impact the productivity of his or her workers. (2) Types of management actions that are in line with employment laws and those that are not and (3) some best practices for working within a diverse work environment. Managers must have a positive attitude, express fairness in order to retain employees, and an open mind. Remember, InterClean will be bringing in new staff from EnviroTech, so retention will be very important. Employees performing their jobs effectively should be rewarded. There should be good working relations between employees and managers; and InterClean needs to maintain a healthy and safe work environment. There can be many factors which affect productivity, quality of materials, people skills, procedures, equipment and management......

Memo on Management Behavior

...Memo on Management Behaviour Managers must practice the art of getting things done through organisational resources (eg.workers, financial resources, information and equipment). At one time, managers were called bosses, and their jobs consisted of telling people what to do and watching over them to be sure they did it. Bosses tended to reprimand those who didn’t do things correctly and generally acted stern. Many managers still behave that way. Perhaps you’ve witnessed such behaviour.Today, management is more progressive. Such managers are educated, to guide, train, support, motivate and coach employees rather than to tell them what to do. There is much more emphasis on working in teams and team building. Managers of high-tech firms realize that workers often know much more about technology than they do.Thus, most modern managers emphasize teamwork and cooperation rather than discipline and order giving. Managers must give direction to their organisations, provide leadership, and decide how to use organisational resources to accomplish goals. Managers today must deal with conflict resolution, create trust in an atmosphere where trust has been badly shaken, and help create balances between work lives and family lives. A manager’s behaviour can impact productivity of his or her employees through the kind of leadership and vision him or her espouses. Productivity is an important aspect of every company because it measures the output of goods and services relative to......

...|InterClean Inc | |Memo To: Supervisory Team From: Sales Manager CC: Management Behavior Date: March 1, 2010 In the midst of the upcoming merger with EnviorTech, it is important that the managers maintain a sense of leadership, direction and dedication to the organization. The reason for the memo is to help management focus on three areas of improvement: - Impact of Managements Behavior on Productivity - Managers Following/Upholding Employment Laws - Workplace Diversity It is very important as a manager to be weary of his or her own expression of behavior because of the impact that behavior can have on the productivity of his or her workers. The productivity of the organization and the quality of work is vital to the organizations operation. The behaviors expressed by supervisors can have both a positive and negative impact on the following areas of his or her employees: productivity, efficiency, morale and motivation. It is important for managers to keep in mind that employees analyze and watch the decision and actions of management. Behavior Management

...To: Management Team From: Rodney C. Lawler RE: Management Behavior Date: August 8, 2010 In the midst of the upcoming merger with EnviorTech, it is important that the managers maintain a sense of leadership, direction and dedication to the organization. The reason for the memo is to help management focus on three areas of improvement: - How a managers behavior can affect the productivity of his or her workers. - The types of management action that align with employment laws and those that do not. - Best practices for working within a diverse work environment. It will be up to us as managers to keep a positive attitude, and make sure our team members have a positive attitude. It has been noted that rude and disrespectful behavior of managers creates an atmosphere of mistrust and fear. As a consequence, has a negative impact on productivity and also increases the operational cost. The success of any business requires managers to help team members feel welcome. Managers must have an open- line of communication with an open door policy. As managers we must never be too busy to entertain questions or concerns from team members. When working with a diverse group of people, the manager’s communication style have an impact on the tone and eye contact which can enhance or negate the content of the message. We must lead by example; a manager who makes the work place an enjoyable environment will set the tone for a more productive work force. The easiest and most...

...order to utilize even more business opportunities as our customer base expands rapidly. This will be a challenging process and I am sure our management team is up to the task. This is not to say that there will not be hurdles for even some adversity in the merger process. With that being said, our management team will be a critical cog in the integration process, and our attitudes, conduct, and behaviors will be scrutinized. We must set the example in supporting and driving this merger. Employees from both companies will be looking to management for direction, reassurance, and resolution. There will be many concerns that employees from both companies will have. The employees will fear for their jobs, their positions, their pay, and many other factors. It will be up to us to temper their fears while also managing expectations. We must also be sure to treat the EnviroTech employees fairly and equally. They will be the most anxious and will have more concerns, as it is their company that is being acquired. We must be sensitive to their fears of coming into a new environment and their fears of job security. We will also need to be aware of our own employees’ fears of job security as they may see the influx of EnviroTech workers as a possible threat to their positions. This will be another crucial step for us a management team, creating a cohesive, welcoming atmosphere for all involved. It is imperative that we set the right tone from the start as we quickly......
