The benefits of using the abbreviations within a medical document are the physician’s spend a lot of time writing and reading documentation. Abbreviation allows the physicians to perform more work and using less time. Abbreviation will make the work of writing and reading more efficient. Some of the limitations are that some of the abbreviation means more than one thing and so you have to know what the abbreviation means when you are reading the documentation’s. You have to stay up to date with the newest abbreviation because some of the change and some of them stay the same. If you not up to date you can make for poor communication. The abbreviation supports the diagnosis in Jane Dare’s health records is an efficient way of keeping the patient’s privacy. Not everyone need to know the patient’s medical history or what then are getting treatment for. So the abbreviations help keep the patient privacy. If the person reading the chart is not careful, a mistake could be made. If a doctor were to write and incorrect dosage, it could lead to several different complications or health problems, and even death.
