How gullibility and deceit go together According to www.dictionary.com the definition of gullible is “easily deceived or cheated”; which basically means you believes everything someone tells you. The definition of deceit is “the act or practice of deceiving; concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading; duplicity; fraud; cheating” according to www.dictionary.com. Gullibility and deceit go hand in hand because being gullible means you believe everything you hear and that makes it easier for others to deceive you. Deceitful people look for others that they can take advantage of and manipulate into doing things for them and that they can get things out of. A gullible person is the main target because they will do almost anything someone asks them to do because they never believe that someone will actually hurt them. Most gullible people are very trusting, very nice and will do almost anything for anyone. The word “credulous” is used very closely used to the word gullible because it means “having or showing too much readiness to believe things”; which is exactly what gullible means. Deceitful people are usually liars, and they say what they think they need to so people will believe them but very gullible people will believe them no matter what. That’s just what they do. Contrary to some beliefs, though, gullible people aren’t always naïve. They might believe everything someone tells them, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t aware of things that go on in this world. Some know what is going on but choose to believe the person telling them “what really happened”. Maybe they trust that person more than others, more than what society is telling them should be going on in certain situations and more than other accounts of what might have happened in a certain situation or time frame. Gullible…...

My Journal Entry 1

...Entry 1 (24th September 2012) It's exactly 12:01 am now, and seeing that this is my first entry, I should update a little of myself. I'm currently at Taiwan for a short vacation with my high school friends of about 10years. And they are Lee Sue Ee, Soh Pei Ling, and Chong Yee Wun. We arrived here on Saturday, 22nd September 2012, and so far it has been an hectic journey seeing that we are here on our own for the first time and we did not go through any travel agency. Enough of updating, I just finish my STA assessment and e-mailed it to my group mates to submit later in the morning. I just hope that I did good enough despite my heavy schedule and with little initiative. Oh yes, I am now in my room while the girls are sleeping and the view is just amazingly breath-taking. How fortunate i am that I could do my assignment while looking at this sea view. The sound of the rushing waves eases my mind to relaxation and light music as my background to suit my emotion. The only thing that lack, is a partner to share this spectacular moment. Anyway, I should sleep now. Gotta be up early later for another tour around the north-east Taiwan before heading to the capital city Taipei later in the evening. I will update my entry again later whilst exploring every possibility here. Good Night ! Good afternoon, it was quite a day after waking up restlessly. Breakfast here was amazing, I mean, what more can we ask with such nature phenomenal as our spectacular view. After finishing our...

Journal Entry 1

...Susan Webber Macroeconomics Journal # The Economic Downturn and how it has Affected Your Family It was really easy to do this journal on personal experiences. I think everyone this year has gone through some hard economic times. My husband was actually reading my homework with me and thought of the topic of gas prices. Gas prices have affected so many people. The rise of gas prices have affected so many people that they can’t even drive cars they have to depend on buses for transportation to get to where they have to go. People often try to get together and make car pools so they can save on the price of gas. When people can save on gas they can use the money that they have saved on their families. Most people have children and need every little penny so they can go out and spend family time and just go out to eat. I can’t even remember the last time that I went out to eat with my family. It seems like everything costs so much money that we can’t do the things that we enjoy. The economic times have made it so hard for families to just wake up and have a good day. There is always something that has to cost money. It’s like people have forgotten how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Much of it has to do with our children. It is like everything that they want has to do with electronics. All of the electronical devices cost so much money, however they are breaking all of the time. What happened to the simple pleasures of just spending time......

Journal Entry 1

...Scott Nicklas Monday, September 2, 2013 Journal Entry 1 In a perfect world, there would be no racism, no oppression, no government corruption, and basic freedoms and rights for every human being. In the United States today, our basic rights are being taken away from agencies such as the NSA. In a perfect world things like this would not happen and everyone would have their own right to privacy. Also, there would be no crime or unemployment and the economy would be better than ever. Politicians would not be ridiculously overpaid/corrupt and the people would have more power. Some of the changes I would bring about in a perfect world would be working with other countries to solve problems that actually matter like hunger and poverty. Providing third world countries with industrialized technology and education would be the ideal way to help them, as opposed to just giving them food and money. While external problems are always important, the well being of my own country will always come first. In the United States I would emphasize a free market economy and attempt to get rid of big corporations or monopolies, starting with the oil industry. The people should not be paying ridiculous prices for everyday items such as gasoline. While I would definitely change many aspects of society to create a perfect world, it is logical to keep some things the way that they already are. One of these things would be Democracy. While completely wiping out the government......

Written Task 1: Daisy Diary Entry

...Written Task 1: Daisy Buchanan’s Diary Entries Rationale (286 words): I chose to write a diary from Daisy’s perspective before and after meeting Gatsby at Nick’s home for the first time in five years to make sense of Daisy’s actions throughout the novel. Her actions, such as using an artificially clear voice to greet Gatsby and crying in the different shirts of Gatsby’s are hard to analyze and seek through, and I’ve decided to write in this format to do so. In order to show my understanding of Daisy’s character, I have studied also her affiliation with her daughter, which is subtle. This was done to showcase her neglecting attitude towards her and the way she overcomes this by stating it is her job as a woman of her status to do so. In the novel, a key idea is the carelessness of the wealthy and the reckless arrogance of theirs, which makes them do whatever they want without a fear of consequences. This was expressed in my writing by Daisy’s defiance near the end, when she is ready to again love Gatsby and neglect her husband Tom. This task also was made to show a clear foreshadowing throughout the novel of what was to come near the end. For instance, Gatsby’s quick death was foreshadowed in the line where I wrote, “the clock represents the speed my life and his are going at”. The audience this task will be set for is those who would like to be informed of Daisy’s personality and the thought that was poured into each of her decisions. The learning outcomes have......

Journal Entry Option: Interview with Ji 1

...JOURNAL ENTRY OPTION: INTERVIEW WITH JI 1 Journal Entry option: Interview with JI By: Oluwaseun Obajolu PGCC, Child Development Dr. Dawn Wadud 2 INTRODUCTION It was a rare encounter, a friendship that developed through a chat room over the internet. Even though Felicia and I had been in the same nursing class for about 6 months, let’s just say we never noticed each other or maybe selectively ignored each other, as the other person was insignificant at that point, in comparison with the herculean task of passing the class. We both struck a cord in each other, our personalities were so much alike and a friendship blossomed. Our lives started to gradually intertwine; I thought I was totally swept away till I met Junior and Halima: Her Kids. I first met the kids in the car and right away, their personalities shone through. Halima was extremely and delightfully talkative while Junior was a little withdrawn and would only say Hi because his Mom asked him to. I thought he was just a shy kid till I observed that in the entire 20 minute ride, he hardly said two words which I thought was pretty unusual for a child of that age group. My curiosity was......
