Understanding Long Term Care

Long Term care is a range of services and support that patients may need as they age to meet there every day ADLs or Activities of Daily Living. Most long term care is not medical care it is care that is given to a patient that has had and acute or chronic illness. For examples if a patient gets in a car accident and becomes paralyzed from waist down they most likely will need assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting and eating those are examples of ADLs.

What is Continuum of Care? Continuum of Care services in the U.S. is an integrated system of care that will guide and track a patient over time spanning all levels of intensity of care, providing a model to guide daily decisions about the patient’s healthcare delivery. Continuum

...Continuum The poem ‘Continuum’ by Allen Curnow revolves around the central theme of poetic inspiration, how it ebbs and flows. He describes himself and his thoughts on a particular night, when he is unable to sleep because his mind is alive and restless. He seems to be in the grip of a poetic impulse that struggles for expression within him. This poem is the medium through which he conveys his experience, and he does so in a very interesting manner. ‘Continuum’ begins with a striking image of the moon “roll[ing] over the roof” and falling behind the poet’s house. It is an animated image of the moon, which has the lucidity of a child’s imagination and so successfully grabs our attention. But even as the reader reacts with mild surprise and pleasure at the novelty of this queer idea, the poet cuts us short with a very matter-of-fact and obvious truth: “the moon does neither of these things”. Curnow is referring to himself. The image of the moon may be interpreted as a symbol of his unsteady train of thought. This and the contradiction thus serve to establish the confusion and indecision in the poet’s mind. Also, the moon is a symbol of poetic muse. Thus the falling moon becomes a metaphor for his sinking poetic abilities. The moon is supposed to be steady but it has lost its balance, as if to suggest that poetic inspiration is not a steady source; it waxes and wanes like the moon. The poet tries to sleep but cannot. There seems to be a conflict between the man and his muse:......

Coca Cola Marketing Continuum

...The relationship marketing continuum contains three levels of long term relationship well-being. The three levels of relationship are to focus on price, social interactions to buyers and to make an interdependent partnership. Providing a reliable foundation for your buyers and contributing to their needs and wants helps a company stay afloat and in this case Coca Cola. The first method I would use to ensure that I offer my buyers a great continuing relationship would be the focal point on price. Today’s economy with so many products and services that cost a fortune it is hard to even evaluate a distinct price. Offering retailers that retail Coca Cola a competitive price that ensures they will make profit while the company does as well will get a more financial sound base for selling Coca Cola. Encouraging a competitive retail wholesale to stores and restaurants will offer more companies and places to offer the Coca Cola brand rather than Pepsi if they only own a certain brand. Meeting and going over a company’s expectations and offering valuable discounts brings more buyers and better relationships from seller to buyer in the long run. The economy regulates prices and the fact that someone can pinpoint how much something is and relatively cheap brings up moral from buyers. Offering a company cheap rates and alternative promotions like a free pallet of Coca Cola, after so many are bought and shipped to the store can be a price focus and which would also stimulate......

Understanding Continuum of Health Care Services

...Understanding Continuum of Care ServicesAccording to "National Care Planning Council" (2012), “When a person requires someone else to help him with his physical or emotional needs over an extended period of time, this is long-term care.”   Long-Term care is usually needed by people who are disabled, injured and the elderly.   While some people might need assistance in many activities some people may only require minimum assistance.   Long-Term care patients can usually be found in a nursing facility, retirement centers, and rehabilitation facilities. Some of the help long-term care provides is help with bathing, dressing, eating, daily household chores such as laundry, house cleaning, and ensuring their monthly expenses are being paid. Long-Term care patients may also need help with transportation to appointments and other daily obligations.("National Care Planning Council", 2012).Long-Term Health Care is one of the biggest challenges the United States faces today because of the expense it requires to take care of people who are in need of this type of care. Continuum of Care

...Continuum of Care Health care services in the U.S. include all services from prenatal care to Palliative care up to the last days of life (Barton, 2010). The way most Americans receive their initial health care is from their General Practice physician for some symptom that needs professional care. Heath care delivery varies, depending on you geographical region, race/ethnicity and SES (Shi, L. & Singh, D., 2012). Geographic In some rural areas, there is usually one hospital with a small inpatient unit, one source of ambulatory care, and all services are offered under one roof: inpatient, outpatient, nursing home (Wakefield & Linden, 2013). With 40 physicians, and more than 425 employees, Grinnell is one of the top rural medical centers in the greater Poweshiek County area of Iowa. Also on staff is a resident physician staff of 40 or more practitioners that provide services usually only offered in major healthcare centers (About Us, 2009). Continuum of Care Thesis Statement

...Personal Responsibility Kathleen Donovan Gen/200 October 13,2014 Kristine Faultner Personal Responsibility Personal responsibility is the ideal that a structure of set behaviors should be employed by one’s volition to hold one’s self accountable in daily life to meet personal, fiscal and educational tasks to successful completion. These behaviors have a rule governing the consequences due to action or inaction by the individual. Consequences are either positive or negative in nature regardless of being personal, educational or work related. Throughout daily life, we all have obligatory responsibilities as well as self-imposed responsibilities. It is often heard that someone would rather point the proverbial finger for their failures toward someone else or some outside cause. In truth, as individuals, personal responsibility is accepting the outcome of either a good or bad decision and learning from it. In matters of business and family, issues arise, and decisions are sometimes unclear. These may be due to an unhealthy family bond or strained relationship. At times, people tend to make poor decisions with their emotions rather than facts or the weighted measures for outcome. As people, we at times tend to fail to see the long projected outcome over a short term goal. In matters of finance, one must not take on a greater financial burden than one can bear. Dr. Muir’s article sites an excellent demonstration of a person that had great examples of personal......

Using a Ricardian continuum of goods model it is shown that under uncertainty a trade-off emerges. As in the standard deterministic model, higher trade integration reduces prices and increases expected real income. However, higher trade integration, reducing the number of active sectors in the economy, also increases the displacement cost the worker suffers when the sector she is employed into has to close down because, ex-post, the foreign country’s competing sector results to be more efficient. Continuum of Process Care

...Continuum Of Care Process Traumatic brain injury can be a very serious problem among adults in the U.S. It can occur without warning and can change your life in an instant. Brain injury is responsible for a substantial number of deaths and even permanent disabilities (“Traumatic Brain Injury,” 2014). In order to treat this type of injury adults usually undergo a step-by-step process through different health care settings. The patient would seek assistance from a hospital, their healthcare provider, pharmacies and from pharmaceutical companies. All these health care settings work together to enhance the health and wellness of our communities. The first step in this process is hospitalization. From the early 1700’s to today, the development of the hospital in the US has drastically changed. In the beginning, they provided care for the very poor. Today, however, physicians are more interested in providing care to other social classes and communities (Barton, 2010). If an adult is getting treated for a traumatic brain injury, then physicians will most likely use a CAT scan to see the severity of the injury and to generate a clearer view of the patient’s anatomy. The use of the CAT scan is directly related to biotechnology companies. They are companies that manufacture medical equipment for different healthcare organizations. This equipment provides hospitals with state of the art technology to detect and treat various diseases. A patient will also be given some......

Does the Traditional Sports Development Continuum Adequately Illustrate the Flow of People in and Out of Sport at All Levels?”

...is about “getting more people involved into sport” (Bloyce and Smith, 2009). The traditional Sport Development Continuum is likewise known as the “sports development pyramid” due to its shape and is also frequently use to define the system of sport in the UK. It is formed by four stages: -Foundation. Beginners in sports, usually children learning basic skills. Primary schools and sports clubs are the main suppliers. -Participation. People begin to participate regularly in sports. It is also health and community sport related. Local authorities are the main providers. -Performance. Aimed for most talented performance who progress to compete in sport. Voluntary clubs play a key role in this stage. -Excellence. Focusing on top class performers competing at national and international levels. NGBs, sports council and private sponsors are responsible for athlete’s development. This model has been used to demonstrate the player development in football, identifying the stage with the different leagues that makes the FA: • Foundation: Grassroots, PE at school. • Participation: Local football club. • Performance: professional football club. • Excellence: professional football club playing at international level. Understanding the Continuum of Care

...Understanding Continuum of Care Services Damita Boone HCA/210 August 3, 2012 Stacy Hull Vance • What is long-term care? Provide an example. Long-term care is a variety of services that includes medical and non-medical care to people who have a chronic illness or disability. Long-term care helps meet health or personal needs. Most long-term care is to assist people with support services such as activities of daily living like dressing, bathing, eating, and using the bathroom. Long-term care can be provided at home, in the community, in assisted living or in nursing homes. Long-term care can be given at any age depending on the situation or disability. The type of long-term care an individual may receive depends on their current situation but all situations are subject to change. For example, my current patient had no use of her arms so she needed 24hour care. I had to feed, dress, bathe, groom, and even drive her to the places she needed to go. Unless her current condition changes, she will always need assistance. I was doing private duty so I took care of her in her home. The shifts were split between two other people so our performance for her was at good standards. • What is the continuum of care services in the United States? The continuum of care services is a concept involving an integrated system of care that guides and tracks a patient over time......
