...Khan Trust Educational Foundation was formed. This foundation is a very prestigious association that is doing whatever it can to persuade the government to put more money towards education (“The State of Education in Pakistan”). Women illiteracy is causing relations between Pakistan and other countries in the world vehemently reduce. Other countries are being seen as more intelligible by being ranked higher in the Human Development Index. Pakistan is ranked 113 out of 120 countries on the Human Development Index and the main cause of this is its lack of education (“Sinkler”). The fact that other countries are viewed as more erudite isn’t the only impact that this problem has on the world. Another effect is that the import and export business is greatly declining (“The State of Education in Pakistan”). Pakistan receives many valuable resources from other countries and in exchange, it sends out products of its own. However, because there are less people working in the manufacturing industry, Pakistan is unable to export many of its products. As a result, interconnections will diminish between nations. If nothing is done about this issue, situations will later be very drastic. The current statistics of illiterate women in Pakistan will be QUADRUPLED by 2015 (“Pakistan’s Education Challenges”). In order to obviate this, the government is putting forth a lot of effort. There are many debates on whether or not more money should be spent towards schools. Some people support......

...Business Research Through Stryker William Fra RES/351 Larry Lindner Business Research Through Stryker Business research is used every day throughout the world and typically is involved in the business or organization that one works for. Stryker is one of those companies whose employees use business research to analyze problems and situations in order to produce better or more efficient results. A dilemma that often requires this research comes when a sales representative requests implants and instrument to be consigned or loaned to a hospital for an extended period of time The Process At Stryker, a large portion of the business is having the right implants and instruments at the right place and right time. Understanding this question alone will help solve the problem as it is the first stage in business research (2011). When a request is made, the first step is analyzing the past 12 months for usage by the hospital. If the turns on instrument and implant sets are more than twice a month, then the request will move forward to the next phase of analysis. The next phase is looking at the ROI, or return on investment. Stryker has premade forms that help analyze this information based on management cost of set, contract pricing, and overall projected turns per month. Some sets will return a positive ROI and some will not. Those sets that do not show a positive ROI can then be subject to a 60-90 day trial. At the end of the trail, the turns on the set is measured and if......

...Understanding Business Research Terms and Concepts: Part 1 RES/351 Business Research August 13, 2014 Understanding Business Research Terms and Concepts: Part 1 It is important to understand business research terms and concepts when conducting research. Having an unclear understanding of the terms and concepts could lead to ineffective research results. Having good measurement tools in place can be used as an indicator for measuring accuracy. Tools that are put in place to measure accuracy are evaluated using three key criteria, validity, reliability, and practicality. Validity is the main concern of the research. Reliability deals with the quality of measurement. Practicality is concerned with factors of economy, interpretability and convenience. In this paper, I have chosen two articles and will identify, compare, and contrast the two approaches, qualitative and quantitative, used by the researcher. In the first article titled, “Research in the News: Practicality trumps desirability in gift giving”, the researchers use a qualitative approach. The strength of this approach was that the studies were conducted face to face in a classroom which allowed the study capture the actual emotions, feelings, and opinions of the individuals being surveyed. Using a combined approach in this study would enhance the results by adding in statistical measures, which will be obtained through the quantitative design. The appropriate method for this research study was the......
